authorities say the clerk was taken to shock trauma with unknown injuries. anyone with information is asked to call baltimore county police. >> an elderly woman is dead. a good samaritan was taken to the hospital after a fire. >> this happened yesterday evening. kim dacey joins us live with the latest details. >> good morning. the victim was an 88-year-old woman who lived in the home with other family members. she was the only one inside the home when the fire started. the fire started just after 6:30 sunday evening near collins avenue in northeast baltimore. a neighbor was hurt trying to get into the home to save the

victim. he was rushed to the hospital. the body was found inside the home. officials do not know how she died. neighbors say it was a terrible scene. >> i saw the flames shooting up out from the first floor and the flames were so thick and i never seen any flames like that before. it was very bad. >> everybody in the neighborhood came around trying to help. >> the cause of the fire is still under investigation. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. fire crews were busy last night battling a fire at a dundalk landmark. fire crews responded to northpoint road. some employees noticed a fire in the basement.

firefighters were on the scene within minutes. an elderly customer was carried out of the restaurant. >> they could not get her out. i had a pocket in my hand and i picked her up and took her out of the building and put her in her car. >> i wanted to put it out. it just got too strong. the smoke got too powerful. it was too bad. i was worried about the fire and worried about everybody else. >> the fire was contained to just the one building. crews are still investigating what may have started the fire. one week ago today baltimore students began their school year. a victim remains in the hospital. he was in critical condition. doctors worked to close a

gunshot wound in his back. the suspect faces attempted murder and first-degree murder. the church the victim is a member of -- the perry hall worship center. the pastor is working with church officials to plan a day to honor daniel borowy as the help raise money to help pay his medical expenses. >> restoring the streets to their regular state to drivers. the second annual baltimore grand prix is now in the books. about 100,000 made their way to the city for the race this weekend. navigating the city was much easier this turn. >> i think it was a lot better this year.

baltimore claims the life of an elderly woman. norths haven't on east avenue. kim dacey is live with the latest -- this happened on east north avenue. >> a neighbor try to save the woman inside. he was injured and the woman perished. >> simply looking into the home, all you see is black. all that remains are charred. the walls are dark from the smoke. >> the fire started around 6:40 sunday evening at this home on east north avenue in northeast baltimore. >> i saw the flames shooting up out from the first floor and the flames were so thick and intense. i've never seen any flames like that before. it was really, really bad. >> the whole neighborhood -- everybody in the neighborhood that came around trying to help,

larelle amos. this happened just after 2:00 on sunday morning. somebody fired shots from the next block and one of them hit her in the chest. she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. police are looking for three men involved in the shooting of a food delivery man. this happened on clifton terrace as the man was dropping off and order. three strangers walked up and started to shoot. the man was able to drive off but not before being shot and hitting several parked cars. >> we have an update. two baltimore city police detectives on administrative leave after they shot an armed man. police say they noticed an armed
